In this two-hour workshop you'll build your own spiky vessel. It could be a vase for dried stems, a cup, a bowl, or something that doesn't need a job at all. We'll start with the base form using slab, pinch and coil techniques, then spend the rest of the afternoon adding spikes by hand, one at a time. Any form of spike is welcome! Short and stubby, long and skinny, sporatic, total chaos, it’s up to you!
We'll have a few examples on the table to get ideas flowing, and we'll be around the whole time to help with the fiddly bits, like getting spikes to actually stay on. No clay experience needed, just a bit of patience and a willingness to get your hands dirty.
After the class, we'll fire your piece and glaze it in your choice of six colours (all food safe)
